More than 450 bird species call South Australia home.  From urban areas, the Murray River floodplains, mallee scrub, forest and woodlands, lagoons, wetlands and the arid Outback.   The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Little Corella, Long-billed Corella, Rainbow Lorikeet, Noisy Miner, Grey Currawong, the White-backed Magpie and the Australian White Ibis may be seen in and around Adelaide.  The kookaburra has adapted well to urbanisation.
